[OC] Ranking All 32 Starting Long Snappers

Since it's that time of the season, I've decided to rank every starting Long Snapper in the league. I will be using a couple of criterion to rank them:

The Criterion

Time of Service

The most important role of being a long snapper is consistency. The more consistent you are, the longer your career will be. The ranking for tenure will be determined by number of seasons spent with current team (Including Upcoming 2021 Season)

• 15+ Seasons - 12 Points

• 13-14 Seasons - 10 Points

• 10-12 Seasons - 8 Points

• 5-9 Seasons - 6 Points

• 3-4 Seasons - 4 Points

• 1-2 Seasons - 2 Points

Accolades

The next best way to determine Long Snapper success is through the accolades they earn. If a player consistently makes Pro Bowls or All-Pros, they obviously deserve to rank higher

• First Team All-Pro - 3 Points per berth

• Second Team All-Pro - 2 Points per berth

• Pro Bowl - 1 Point per berth

Collegiate Background

One of the biggest draws of a long snapper is the wild nature. An elite Long Snapper can come from anywhere, it matters not if they come from a big name school or a small one. So the weirder, the better

• NCAA Division II, III, or Unaffiliated - 4 Points

• NCAA Division I (FCS - Football Championship Series) - 3 Points

• NCAA Division I FBS (Non-Power 5 Conference) - 2 Points

• NCAA Division I FBS (Power 5 Conference: ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac 12, SEC) - 1 Point

Reputation

Finally, the most subjective of all categories. If a certain long snapper has something neat, wacky, or chad-worthy. They get a bonus point. For example, Jon Dorenbos would earn a bonus point for his side-gig of being a professional magician.

• Bonus Point for Reputation - 1 Point

Tiebreakers

Ties between season are broken first through longevity difference and secondly through higher accolades

NOTE This is by no means a decisive end-all list and if your favorite snapper ranks low, that’s perfectly ok. That’s just the results of my arbitrary guidelines...except Don Mulbach, he’s always #1.
