With the hiring of Dirk as an advisor, and soon to be hiring of Barea as an assistant, the Dallas Mavericks have checked off 4 of the 5 KANGZ criteria

As first mentioned by Sacramento beat writer Greg Wiss (@gwiss), the Mavs are currently at 80% along the KANGZ progression.

The Kangz Checklist:

1) Give power to “outside the box” BS artists 2) Drive away successful basketball people 3) Surround yourself with friends from the good old days 4) Hire your coach before your GM

Only thing missing: 5) Hire a former player from the good old days to be GM
