10 Years Ago Today: The Chargers get "Tebowed", 16-13 in OT

Yes, on November 27, 2011, The San Diego Chargers ran in to the unstoppable juggernaut that was the 2011 Tim Tebow Denver Broncos. The Broncs defeated the Chargers 16-13 in overtime to win their fifth straight game with Tebow at the helm, raising their record from a dead-duck 1-5 to a lively 6-5 in the process. Tebow drove the Broncos 68 yards to a game-tying FG with less than two minutes to go in regulation, and then to to the game-winner in OT.

Tebow threw for just 143 yards on 18 attempts in the win, but did so reasonably efficiently, posting a 95.4 PR, besting Philip Rivers, an actual passing QB, who had to chuck it 18 more times than Tebow did to generate just 45 more passing yards.

Tebow actually ran the ball more than he threw it. Running the read-option, Tebow rushed 22 times for 67 yards. According to the statisticians, this was the most official rushing attempts by a QB in the Super Bowl era, heck, the most since at least 1950, when teams may have still been running the Single-Wing, or something.

Anyway, just a friendly reminder of the heady days of "Tebowmania". I'm still not sure what the difference between Tebow and Taysom Hill is, they look like the same player to me. But Hill is making $40 million or something in the NFL.
