The Rockets’ plans for a "Travis Scоtt Day" on Wednesday were canceled, replaced with a moment of silence before the game against the Detroit Pistons in the wake of the Astrоworld Festival tragedy last week.
The Rockets had planned a themed T-shirt giveaway at Wednesday’s game. After the tragedy, in which at least eight people diеd and many others were injured in the crush near the stage, those plans were dropped and the Rockets' social media posts were deleted. The Rockets had not made an announcement about the change of plans under the circumstances.
“After what was a horrific tragedy last week, we felt it would have been insensitive and not the right time for us to move forward,” Rockets president of business operations Gretchen Sheirr said. “Tonight, we’ll honor victims with a moment of silence to help our community heal.”
