I get that we're missing Lebron but AD has been healthy for most of these games. Isn't this what we got Russ for? We saw him steamroll through the Wizard's cakewalk to close last season. Russ averaged 23/14/13.5 on 53 TS% and 4.5 TOV during the Wizards' last 23 games against weak opponents and led them to a 17-6 record. And he has AD this year. But he's currently averaging 19.5/8.5/8.5 on 50 TS% and 5.5 TOV. I'm not sure why he continually starts off slow even though he's seemingly healthy right now.

Even though it's a problem when a supermax player has the output of an average starter, Russ isn't the only problem. Vogel's offensive coaching has been awful, there's almost no movement and no help for AD when he gets doubled. We can't rely on Melo to be Curry-level from beyond the arc and role players have been largely disappointing. But maybe I shouldn't expect too much from a bunch of minimum contracts. Injuries also suck, we need forwards, Lebron and Ariza can't come back soon enough.
