In 2011 after Curry's 2nd season, r/nba discusses whether it's possible for Curry to beat Ray Allen's 3PM record

I just think it's super interesting how different basketball was in 2011. People were really doubting that Curry could reach Ray Allen's 2.4 3s per game mark and obviously that number seems crazy low in today's game.

Some highlights:

I don't think a PG can throw up that many shots.. Especially with Don Nelson gone now. Steph Curry will most likely round out into a more typical PG over time, rather than becoming Monta Ellis 2.0

i think its gonna take a few years before we see a real threat...

no one can even catch up to jason kidd....let alone ray allen

no one in the league right now could do it. Jimmer is the only one with an outside shot but he won't cause he is already 22. Ray has been my favorite player since I was 5 years old. There might be someone that comes up to the league in a few years that is just an insane knockdown shooter like ray but outside of jimmer, I don't think anyone else is even noteworthy.
