One of the best Ravens Steelers moments wasn't when they played each other.

In 2018, the Ravens and the Steelers were on two completely different trajectories.

After starting the season 7-2-1, the Steelers looked poised to avenge their previous playoff failure against the Jags the year before, and topple the hated Pats after losing the #1 seed over a controversial call, an overturned game winning touchdown.

The Ravens on the other hand were on life support. After an encouraging start of 4-2, including a 26-14 victory in Pittsburgh, they lost 3 straight. The third loss was an ugly 23-16 loss to the Steelers which would ultimately be Joe Flacco's last start as a Baltimore Raven.

At the bye week the playoffs seemed impossible, and the Steelers 3.5 game Division lead certainly seemed like it would hold without question.

Two players from each team would change that.

After it was reported that Joe Flacco suffered an injury Vs Pittsburgh, John Harbaugh announced that Rookie QB Lamar Jackson would get his first start Vs the Bengals. The rookie lead the Ravens back from 21-13 and the Ravens gained a much needed win.

He would then win games Vs the Raiders and Falcons, and nearly upended the Chiefs in Arrowhead, until Mahomes converted 2 4th downs in the last two minutes to tie the game. The Ravens would lose in overtime and fall to 7-6.

Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, trouble began brewing in paradise. The Steelers dropped an ugly 24-17 loss in Denver, as finger pointing from Ben Roethlisberger caused a controversy between him and Stat WR Antonio Brown.

Then they would drop another two more embarrassing games to the Raiders and Broncos, one in which Chris "bosgod" Boswell, slipped and missed a game tying kick to end the game, and a 23-7 comeback from the Chargers in Pittsburgh.

Suddenly in week 16, the Ravens were only a game back.

After the Ravens defeated the Chargers in dramatic fashion on Saturday night, the Steelers needed to beat the #1 seeded Saints to keep the AFC north lead.

In the back and forth shootout, the Steelers lead 28-24 in the 4th when they ran a fake punt. Even though they were clearly short of the 1st by almost 2 yards, fullback Rosevelt Nix celebrated picking up the first down.

The Saints would go ahead late, giving Pittsburgh one last chance to either tie or take the lead. Drive down field, Roethlisberger completed a pass to JuJu Smith Schuster, who fumbled the ball, giving the Saints the win and the Ravens 1st place in the North going into week 17.

Suddenly, the Steelers needed their long time arch nemesis, the red hot Cleveland Browns, to take care of business against the Ravens to win back the North

After winning their game vs the Bengals, the Steelers and their fans watch on their jumbotron as the Browns were close to completing a 20-7 comeback. Down 26-24, the Browns were in position to be the third team 3 years in a row to end the Ravens season in heartbreaking fashion, completing an AFC north trifecta.

After completing two ridiculous catches that were reviewed, the Browns sat on the edge of game winning field goal range. As Steelers fans watched with glee at Hinez Field, they did the unthinkable, Chanting "Let's Go Browns!" And "Let's go Brownies!"

With AFC north champion's Tshirts lined up on the field.

Then, suddenly the Ravens defense will'd the team to the AFC north title with 4 defensive stands, completed with an interception by CJ Mosley.

Pure joy in Baltimore

Embarrassment and sorrow in Pittsburgh. A 3.5 lead gone and a brown stain on the fans of the Steelers.
