In 2012, NFL star receiver Cooper Kupp and his high school basketball team went against Zach Lavine in the state championship game. Kupp outplayed Lavine and led his team to the blowout win.

Even though Lavine was only a junior while Kupp was a senior, I still found this to be pretty interesting. Zach had only 4 points at the half and finished with 20, scoring mostly in garbage time. Kupp had 19 points on 9/11 shooting and guarded Lavine.

Also, Kupp’s hometown is Yakima, Washington. Some of you may recall this as the place where iCarly’s grandparents threatened to move her to due to Spencer’s immaturity.

Edit: Just to add more context to this, at this point in time Kupp had only received 2 scholarship offers from Eastern Washington and Idaho State. He didn’t receive a single football scholarship offer until 2 weeks after his final high school game.
