Do Cornerbacks have the shortest window of peak performance?

I was thinking how difficult it must be for a Cornerback in the NFL. I can’t think of a position that requires BOTH a high degree of technical and positional awareness and skills and elite level of athleticism to be successful. So I feel like it creates a likely scenario where a rookie CB comes in, struggles with their assignments and gets burned by top WRs, after a few years they put it together and ball out, but then around age 30 or so, injuries pile up or they lose half a step and suddenly they don’t have the athleticism to cover anyone anymore.

Whereas QBs for instance may take a bit to develop but then can play seemingly forever once they get there and while RBs wear down quick, they can come in and tear up the league right away if they have the physical tools.

For corners, it seems like there is just that brief window of time where they are both experienced enough and young enough to shine.
