[Popper] Knicks will not exercise option on Derrick Rose's contract. Rose was beloved by Thibs and the organization had a diminished role on the court but was a pro throughout his benching a voice in the locker room and this will give him a chance to explore available opportunities.

Knicks columnist Steve Popper tweets that Derrick Rose has been let go by the New York Knicks.

Rose, the veteran guard, is now a free agent and can pursue available opportunities next week in free agency. (He can also technically re-sign with the Knicks on a veteran's minimum deal, if the Knicks would offer it).
