Today I saw a tweet how on this day a few years ago the St. Louis Cardinals hit 10,000 wins as a franchise. I knew that now NFL teams play about 1/10 the games, but the NFL is much younger, and even 16 game seasons are relatively recent.
Currently, the Packers and Bears are safely in the lead ahead of every other franchise with 790 and 786 wins, respectively. (The Giants are at 715)
Currently the Cardinals are safely in the lead ahead of every other franchise with... 790 losses. (The Lions are at 702).
To see two over-100 year old franchises tied like that is pretty neat, and really begs the question: Who hits 1,000 first?
Will the Packers continue and the Bears turn it around? Will the Cardinals begin to show some competence? We should have an answer in ~20 years!
