So Steph was better than KD in 2016, better than KD from 2020-2013, but KD was randomly just better while they played together?

I meant 2020-2023 smh.

I don’t understand why people don’t get this. KD PERFORMED better than Steph in the Finals because Ty lie LITERALLY SAID his gameplan was to blitz Steph. What about that gives people the indication that KD was the better player during their time?

Maybe warriors fans can vouch for me as far as how these playoff series actually played out below the surface(just comparing Steph and KDs numbers)

If Steph didn’t perform so badly in game 3 in 2018 when that started really trapping him heavy after he went off the first 2 games (KD had some terrible play in the clutch in game 1 btw) he was easily going to be the finals MVP. In my opinion he still should’ve been.

But people forget that Steph was underrated heavily pretty much until 2020-21 because people thought “he can’t do it on his own” which was always as dumb take. Plus KD was the 7’0 guy who could do it all. That didn’t make him better though.

And the series vs the Rockets to me make it even more obvious who was more impactful. When Kd was taking over the offense was completely stagnant the rockets had the upper hand in both series in 2018 and 2019 until Steph started taking over.

Obviously in 2018 CP3 got hurt and Houston choked. But STEPH was the one who turned game 7 around for the Warriors and went off with Klay in game 6.

In 2019, before Kd went out the warriors were on the brink of losing game 5. The offense was so stagnant from Game 3 vs LAC all the way to the 4th of Game 5 vs Houston. KD gets injured and until they broke down against Toronto because of the lack of depth, they looked like the warriors again.

KD was a super Harrison Barnes on Golden State and the more and more he tried to get out of that role and take over the offense, the worse they were. There’s a reason they were mostly healthy in 2019 and only won 58 games despite all the talent.

Not to mention, the 2016 WCF is a series that happened. For some reason Stephs amazing game 5-7 performance just isn’t talked about.

He put up 33/8/7 on 47/47/91… was also killing KD in ISOs in game 7. And since KD left, one guy has been much more successful individually and team wise than the other.

Steph has been better since 2016. It’s simple
