What players seems to have a reputation for being a good playoff performers when they really aren’t?
People only seem to talk about AI in 2001. Because in reality they never really watched AI play and just saw highlights of his 2001 season.
Won’t talk about how he only made it out of the second round once, in a very weak eastern conference early on.
He shoots the ball terribly in almost every playoff series and wasn’t a good defender.
The worst 3 point shooters on 2000 attempts are Charles Barkley, Westbrook, Jerry Stackhouse, Lamar Odom, and Allen Iverson.
His midrange stats aren’t good either.
Below average free throw shooter.
Wasn’t efficient when he had better offensive help with Carmelo.
Yet some of his fans will tell you he’s better then Harden or Steve Nash.
They act like it’s very offensive to compare him to Russell Westbrook because AI beat a single 50 win team to go to the finals one year shooting the ball poorly, and being outplayed by the opposing guards in each series. (Vince, Reggie, Allen, and Kobe).
Both players are poor shooters and mediocre defenders. Bad playoff performers.
They also ignore the fact in that run, how good defensively his team was and the good offensive production from some players because they only care about ppg.
Not assist from snow or the offensive rebounds from Mutombo.
Just to say AI carried them shooting 38.9 from the field.
Despite facts such Dikembe Mutombo being a monster on the boards and defense.
Because even if you’re playing good, your somehow being carried.
