[OC] 22% of NFL quarterbacks have likely had season-ending injuries this year. This chart shows the cumulative contract earnings for games missed by these players.

Aaron Rodgers (probably), Anthony Richardson, Deshaun Watson, Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins, Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert (probably), all likely have had season-ending injuries. These seven quarterbacks have a combined AAV (annual average value) of $274.5M, an average of $39M each ($2.3M per game).

This chart shows the week-by-week accumulation of contract value earned by these quarterbacks for games missed due to injury. (Some players earn different amounts each year, but for this chart I'm using their annual average value across all years of their contract). The cumulative earnings for these seven quarterbacks for games missed in the 2023 season is likely to end at $151M. The chart below illustrates the week-by-week growth of earnings for games missed, increasing throughout the season as more QBs get injured and the missed games add up.

Note: obviously other quarterbacks have been injured as well, but the focus for this chart is only those who have had season-ending injuries.
