With their won over the Utah Jazz, the Phoenix Suns have taken over first place in the West

The Phoenix Suns entered tonight with a 44-18 record, while the Jazz were 45-17. They played each other tonight in a game that, for some reason, was not nationally televised. The Suns blew the Jazz out, thereby sweeping the season series. As a result, they own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Jazz, and are currently in possession of the top seed in the Western Conference.

The Suns have won 35 of their last 45 games. This is their remaining schedule: @OKC on Sunday, @Cleveland on Tuesday May 4th, @Atlanta on Cinco De Mayo, against the Knicks next Friday, @Lakers next Sunday (May 9th,) @Golden State on May 11th, vs Portland on May 13th, then 2 games in San Antonio on the 15th and 16th.

Can they retain the top seed in the West? Only time will tell, but the fact that they're holding on to it at all is a testament to how amazing they have been playing.

The Phoenix Suns could become the 1st seed in the West by beating the Utah Jazz tomorrow.

The Jazz are currently in 1st place at 45-17 with the Suns closely behind them at 44-18. If the Suns were to beat the Jazz tomorrow, because they are currently 0-2 against them this season (L, 113-117 on 04/07/2021 and L, 95-106 on 12/31/2020) the Suns hold the tie breaker and would leapfrog the Jazz for the 1st seed in the Western Conference.

Do you think they'll succeed in taking the 1st seed tomorrow? If so, do you think they'll hold it going into the playoffs?

2021 NFL Draft Hub

Welcome to the 2021 NFL Draft hosted in /r/nfl

Much like last year we will be creating multiple threads throughout the process. Each day of the draft will have 2 dedicated posts - one open discussion thread where selection spoilers are allowed and a broadcast thread where spoilers are not allowed. Violating the spoiler restrictions in the broadcast thread will result in a temporary ban for the duration of the draft. A live thread will accompany all of these threads and remain actively updated throughout the entire draft.

Each selection will also have an individual thread posted by /u/nfl_mod. Please do not attempt to post these yourself - submissions will be locked. After the draft days end, submissions will be re-opened.

Should important news arise during the draft, this can still be submitted, but will have to await moderator approval. Message the moderators if something you submitted isn't showing.

As each day finishes, the threads for the day will be locked, as new ones go up. The individual selection threads will not be locked at any point. This thread is just a hub to direct discussion to the appropriate threads, and so will remain locked for the duration of the draft.

Russell Westbrook with 18/18/14 tonight on 7/16 shooting and 2 turnovers against the Lakers

Russell Westbrook put up his 30th triple-double this season tonight (and his 13th this month) in a solid win over the defending champions.

This continues the Wizards hot streak, winning 9 out of their last 10 games.

This puts him at 176 career triple-doubles, 6 short of overtaking the Big O's league record of 181. There are ten games left in the season.

‘Twas the night before draft day

‘Twas the night before draft day, when all through the sub,
Not a user was posting, F5ers felt snubbed
The Jaguars had dreams of Rapunzel-like hair
Attached to a man who threw spirals so fair
The Jets and Zach Wilson were both feeling swell
Though neither loved hearing “the Mormon Manzeil” The Niners had given up lots for pick three
In hope that Mac Jones, their starter, could be
Atlanta was hoping they’d give the league fits
With Ryan and Ridley and most of all Pitts
The Bengals had Burrow and most of his knee
And knew with Ja’Marr how happy he’d be
Miami was next, and after much talk,
The fins went with Penei, a Duck who can block
The Lions were up, til the Bears took a chance
And traded their picks for a man named Trey Lance
After the Lions, the Panthers swapped too
Fields to New England; a dream that came true
The Broncos took Parsons, the Cowboys Surtain
As both of their defenses had much to gain
The Giants picked Waddle, the Eagles picked Horn;
With speed and tight coverage, their hopes were reborn
The Chargers got Slater, a pick without flaws
And the Vikings were thrilled to bring home Darrisaw
The Panthers took Smith, Heisman in tow
The Cardinals Farley, who fell far too low
For Vegas, ‘twas Moerhrig, defender of balls
The Dolphins nabbed Paye, who played balls to the wall
Tucker was next, to the Washington team
Koromoah, Detroit made Lions’ eyes gleam
The Colts landed Philips, a pass-rushing beast
The Titans went Moore, didn’t mind in the least
The Jets wanted Newsome, who helped right away
The Steelers got Harris, the first back that day
The Jags went with Jenkins, a man who could block
And Cleveland took Jamin to a town that could rock
The Ravens snatched Marshall, for his size and great hands
The Saints went with Collins, delighting their fans
The Packers went Bateman, the Bills Etienne
Tremendous pass-catchers became cold-weather men
The Ravens had picked out their man in Azeez
When the Bucs landed Barmore Tampa was pleased
Day one was over! The teams could now rest
They’d welcomed these players, only the best,
The commissioner knew he had done it again
Ringleader, boss, and hugger of men.

The Phoenix Suns have clinched a playoff spot for the first time in over a decade!

Suns beat the Clippers 109-101.

The last time the Suns made the playoffs was in 2010 when they lost to the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. Phoenix is the 4th team to clinch a playoff spot this season; Utah, Brooklyn and Philadelphia are the other three. Suns fans, REJOICE! It's been a long time coming.

Edit: 4th team to clinch, not 3rd team

[Hensley] Lamar Jackson offered a man $100 if he could tell him his name. The man guessed Jackson played football. “The position?” Jackson asked. The man said:“You’re probably a wide receiver,”. Jackson still gave him the money.
