Announcing the [Injury] Tag Policy for Videos
TL;DR- Moving forward, injury-related videos must be tagged with the [Injury] tag instead of [Highlight].
Based on feedback from the r/NFL community, we are making a small change to our policy on tagging injury-related videos.
Our users stated that they felt "dirty" tagging injury-related posts as [Highlight] and that they wanted a different designation for them.
We also heard that those who are squeamish and faint of heart wanted more transparency to avoid potentially NSFL posts.
So, moving forward, users submitting any injury-related clips must post with the [Injury] tag in lieu of the [Highlight] one.
Our highlight policy of submitting a non-editorialized title applies to injury posts as well. A description of the play, the players involved, and the outcome (if known) would be approved. A hyperbolic title would not. Examples:
Allowed: "[Injury] Steve Young suffers a concussion from an Aeneas Williams hit, ending his career."
Not Allowed: "[Highlight] Aeneas sends Steve Young to the shadow realm with a bone crunching injury."
Posts tagged with the [Injury] designation are to be considered serious threads, and any comments celebrating player injuries may result in further action from the mods.

[Patt] The Bulls aren’t going to lose out on Lonzo Ball, so there’s some speculation that the tampering punishment could be worse, assuming there is punishment. Cody Westerlund of 670 The Score says “there’s a belief in some NBA circles that the Bulls could be docked a first-round draft pick.”
The Chicago Bulls struck right away at the start of 2021 free agency, coming to terms with Lonzo Ball on a four-year, $80 million sign-and-trade deal within the opening minute. The Bulls had been trying to acquire Ball going back to the 2020-21 trade deadline, and all signs had pointed to them getting their man in free agency.
Because of how quickly the deal involving Ball and the New Orleans Pelicans came together, the NBA launched a tampering investigation. Kyle Lowry’s sign-and-trade deal with the Miami Heat also got caught up in an investigation.
That was nearly two months ago at this point, and the investigation is ongoing as training camp begins. Last year’s tampering investigation into the Milwaukee Bucks for the botched Bogdan Bogdanovic trade talks took about a month before the punishment was doled out. The Bucks were docked a 2022 second-round pick, with the failure to wind up with Bogdanovic playing a role in the decision.

Chicago is out two first-round picks from the Nikola Vucevic trade and another one from the DeMar DeRozan sign-and-trade, but one came back in the Lauri Markkanen sign-and-trade. It would obviously be ideal to not lose that pick and be able to use it as a trade chip.

Hello everyone, you may have seen my groundbreaking post exposing Dwight Howard for being a bad teammate and choosing the wrong jersey number yesterday, but alas more information has come to light and I need to apologize to Dwight.
New numbers have been revealed for the rest of the Lakers roster today and upon review, it turns out that it's Joel Ayayi who really messed things up. Allow me to explain.

Porter, in an interview with The Denver Post, said his opinion is based on two separate bouts with COVID.
“For me, I had COVID twice, I saw how my body reacted, and although the chances are slim, with the vaccine, there’s a chance you could have a bad reaction to it,” Porter said. “For me, I don’t feel comfortable.
“My stance on the mandate is it definitely shouldn’t be a mandate. It should be everyone’s decision. I see it both ways. If you want to get it because you feel more protected and you feel safer, and it’s protecting people around you, get it. That’s good for you. But if you feel like, ‘Oh, for me, I don’t feel safe getting it, then don’t get it.’”
Porter isn’t the only Nuggets player unvaccinated. He, along with any unvaccinated teammate, will be subject to onerous testing and other restrictions. The guidelines are outlined in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
“I’ve had it twice, and I don’t know what’s going in my body with a shot, so if I already know how I’m going to react to COVID, I just feel like, for me, I don’t want to risk putting something that might affect me negatively in my body,” Porter said.

So I wanted to make sure I give myself a shot for another payday eventually by taking care of business on this one. So it was a business decision for me.”

The good news is the revamped Oline continues to look good and Clyde Edwards-Helaire was able to bounce back from a fumble and look good against the Chargers. Fortunately, the 49ers left just enough time for Aaron to do Aaron things and win anyway. Big shoutout to Mason Crosby for being a rock on this team for the last 15 years and being super clutch once again. The run defense wasn't a complete sieve, but our lack of linebacker play hurt us again with our inability to effectively cover the middle of the field (though Kittle is hard to stop for any team, so not too much blame here). Jaire allowed his first touchdown in 17 games but had a sick interception, so that's cool. Offensively, we opted for a ton of quick passes, which really took advantage of the lack of depth in the San Francisco secondary and prevented our inexperienced OL from getting bogged down against what should be a very good Niners DL. Running game was solid once again, thank you Aaron Jones, very cool. Things are looking up, though definitely still lots to improve on. | |

The Chargers will be under the lights nationally as they host the surging Raiders on MNF next week. | |

At his current rate (fewer rushes than last year through 3 games), Henry is on pace for 2,000 yards and 2,595 yards from scrimmage which would break the NFL record held by former Titan Chris Johnson. | |

The Vikings dominated the time of possession and completely wore down the defense. And wew, is this defense rough. Jamal Adams has not been the playmaker he was last year. Tre Flowers deserves to be on the waiver wire. LJ Collier, the Seahawks first round pick a couple years ago, was again a healthy scratch. There are some bright spots (Alton Robinson and Darrell Taylor continue to grow and bobby as always), but this team does not look right. Perhaps a change in philosophy is warranted. | |

The Bengals offensive line is still a work in progress, but they did manage to snap the Steelers NFL record streak of 75 straight games with a sack. Rookie 2nd round pick Jackson Carmen made his NFL debut and did not allow a single QB hurry on the day, and tackles Jonah Williams and Riley Reiff continue to play exceptional on the edges. Overall it's a great day to be a Bengals fan. | |
| 19. | Vikings | +5 | 1-2 | Kirk Cousins is on fire, dropping dimes under pressure and creating out of structure. Through three weeks, Cousins ranks third in PFF grade and fifth in EPA/play. That high level of mistake-free play helped the Vikings pull off a resounding win against the Seahawks, along with great offensive play calling, Justin Jefferson putting up another route running clinic, and the Vikings' defense finally showing up and shutting out the Seahawks in the second half. This team feels a lot better than 1-2, and they'll certainly get a chance to prove it against a loaded Browns roster on Sunday. | |
| 20. | Steelers | -7 | 1-2 | Wow. Well the Steelers are a hot mess right now and the AFC North ain't gettin' any easier. It's not just giving up wins to division opponents, it's all of the penalties. On offense. So bad. For sure, TJ Watt is the heart and soul of the defense and it's not the same without him. There was too much missing personnel at WR. You can't be down your best defender, have your WR corps depleted, and then commit unforced error after unforced error against a crew keen to call penalties. The Bengals just played smarter, more disciplined football and looked far more competent than the Steelers did. | |
| 21. | Patriots | -2 | 1-2 | While it would have been nice to get a win over the Saints, a non-conference loss stings less and it's good experience for Mac Jones, who needs as much exposure as he can get right now. He took some deeper shots as well (to mixed results) which is encouraging for a young QB that the league wants to paint as a checkdown machine. The defense also looked better than expected, although playing against Jameis Winston makes it more difficult to judge a defense on its merits alone - that supremely Jameis-esque TD is a great example of why. Let's be honest though, this loss is supremely forgettable in the shadow of next week's game. It's Brady vs Belichick week, so get ready to hear about that nonstop for at least the next 6 days. | |

Brian Flores is a good coach, but he needs to figure out the offense. Next week is a winnable game against a struggling Colts team, and we're getting close to must win territory early in the season. | |

They also gave up a third-straight opening-drive TD, and it only went downhill from there. It’s hard to realistically see more than 3-4 wins with the schedule ahead. | |

There's fourteen games to go, but it might be time to hit the panic button. | |

Defensively, with two minutes left in a tied game, Daniel Jones was sacked like a bag of groceries, courtesy of Dante Fowler. Grady might have line help for the first time since Kroy Biermann hung up his red contact lenses. In special teams news, with the game on the line, Koo hit his first NFL game winning field goal with the accuracy Matty Thrice would be proud of. If this skyrocketing trajectory continues, Atlanta could be competitive against average teams by Q4 2023. | |

Morant: No disrespect to the OGs, but I’m Ja, and he’s Jaren. We’re both totally different persons from that comparison. We have a bright future, so we’ve just got to continue to live up to being two of the greatest duos to play for the Grizzlies, such as Conley and Z-Bo (Zach Randolph) or Conley and Gasol.

What’s a reasonable return for what Simmons is worth, and what’s a reasonable expectation for what he can get back in a trade right now, at this time of the year? The two are pretty far apart, which is why I think Daryl Morey and the Sixers are likely to try to call Simmons’ bluff on not reporting to camp and not settle for whatever they can get right now.
Earlier in the offseason, it was reported that Simmons only had a few select teams that he wanted to go to, but sources have told me that is not the case, and he has imposed no such trade restrictions on the Sixers. That would open things up quite a bit, as the teams who would be most interested in Simmons are rebuilding teams in non-glamour markets, which would value not only Simmons’ ability to raise their floor and help get them closer to playoff contention but also the fact that he is under contract for four more seasons.
Add that all together, and if the Sixers do have to trade Simmons in the next month or two, I think the kind of package you’re looking at is a few picks, maybe a pick swap, a useful (but not star-level) player in return and salary-cap filler, with the goal of packaging some of that stuff in a second deal closer to the deadline to ultimately get the player the Sixers want.'

Most of the chatter has centered on Kevin Love. A large part is Cleveland’s desire to move him. But in this rare instance his bloated $31 million salary is somewhat of an asset, nearly matching Simmons’ $33 million number. It’s logical to start hypothetical deals there. Now just find the other pieces to entice Philadelphia -- or a third or fourth team. Then again, even though Love’s floor spacing and shooting would seem to be a good fit next to center Joel Embiid, Love’s still viewed leaguewide as a negative asset, which means Philadelphia would need an incentive boost, forcing the Cavs to add extra pieces in that deal.
In terms of salary filler, Ricky Rubio’s $17.8 million expiring contract would be much more appealing and it’s now past Sept. 10 -- the date in which his salary can be aggregated in a trade. The Cavs like Rubio. They are excited about his leadership and playmaking potential. But getting someone like Simmons means parting with valued players. Rubio or Love would almost certainly have to be the starting point, as Jarrett Allen and Lauri Markkanen can’t legally be traded until December, about two months into the season -- provided the Cavs were willing to go that direction.

Even the addition of Simmons wouldn’t change the 2021-22 forecast that much, as the Cavs wouldn’t have enough short-term floor-spacers or shooters around the limited Simmons. Any deal would mean rejiggering the roster quite a bit.

And when the Warriors pulled off an improbable summer manuever to sign Andre Iguodala, it sent Rockets general manager into a panic. He was worried that the Warriors had just made a big enough move to convince Dwight Howard to sign in Golden State.
So Morey started working the phones for another superstar to add, and ended up calling Mark Cuban in desperation to ask about Dirk Nowitzki. Morey recounted the story at the Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, via Pro Basketball Talk:
[Morey] thought that Howard would be persuaded to choose the Warriors based on their addition of another All-Star talent, and so he went running to the phones to try to acquire another star of his own — without knowing that Howard had already made his decision to join the Rockets.
“This is where my emotion takes over,” Morey said. “I go into a complete panic. I really did. I thought it was down to us, Dallas, L.A.”
So Morey called Mark Cuban to try and poach his franchise superstar.
“I was like, ‘Well, you’re not getting Dwight Howard. Can you trade us Dirk Nowitzki?’” Morey said. “It was a bad moment for me.”
A really bad moment, considering that Howard had already informed Dallas that he was signing elsewhere, even though Morey hadn’t been made aware of his decision just yet.
“Mark thought I was taunting him,” Morey said.
Cuban talked about it back in November, saying he felt like he was being messed with and that Morey was rubbing his win of Howard in his face.
"Definitely. And I don't blame them," Cuban said in November. "That's fine. But payback is a bitch."
But as Morey tells the story, it was more a move out of potential desperation. Either way, it's fun.

In Michael Jordans 37 playoff series, he faced 269 different players. He outscored 268 of them. The only player to ever outscore MJ in a series was Terry Cummings, who did it by a single point in MJ's rookie year by avging 29.5ppg
After reading the Hakeem post I took a cursory glance at MJ opponents and found that in all but 1 case, he's outscored every single player he's ever faced in a playoff series.
Terry scored 118 points to MJs 117 for the Bucks in the 4 game EC round 1 in 1985. It was MJ's first ever playoff series in his rookie year and he was guarded by 2x DPOY Sydney Moncreif, holding him to 29.3 a game. In his next playoff series he would average 44ppg, outscoring Larry Bird (who still put up a fantastic 28ppg) by 16ppg and would outscore his opponents in the following 36 playoff series.

Shamit Dua, one of our mods who covers the Pelicans, had plenty to say about Zion that wasn’t covered in the Christian Clark piece this morning. Mainly, that Zion has not shown up to off-season workouts and not been in communication with his teammates.
In reference to a post on a tigerdroppings message board about Zion “ghosting teammates” at summer league and off-season workouts, he says, “I can’t refute any of it.”
He further added, “Unless he's showed up in the last two days or is coming today, he was not there last week.”
If the Pelicans start out slow, the noise around that team is just going to get louder. Sounds like Zion should have to be held more accountable, as well.
